Since 2005, the port has been a successful recipient of the Blue Flag (confirmed 2012), which recognises ports with a policy for sustainable environmental development.

Saint-Georges’ quay on one side of the canal, Sainte-Catherine’s on the other, backed by green open spaces, with the Water Gardens nearby. The port is on the border between Nancy’s City-Centre/Charles III and Stanislas/Meurthe wards.
