Nancy Brabois Racecourse: Nancy boasts the best racecourses in the East
The Nancy-Brabois hippodrome is set on the plateau overlooking the city of Nancy in the Vandoeuvre area, next to the Technology Park and opposite the University Hospital. The site comprises dozens of hectares of lawns, looseboxes and impeccably maintained tracks, not to mention the extensive grandstand which also houses the course’s technical facilities and a restaurant with a panoramic view of the courses.
With a well-deserved reputation as one of the best courses in the east of France, the racecourse has a 1600-metre, 18-metre wide grass course on the flat, a 1400-metre grass course with jumps and an 1800-metre red cinder track reserved for trotting, which is 20 metres in width. Right running rail.
There are six permanent ground staff who ensure the course is maintained throughout the year, in addition to the professionals trainers and jockeys.
From March to September (no races in July and August) Nancy Brabois hosts 14 meetings, 9 of which form part of the (premium) national series.
The restaurant complex is currently undergoing renovation and will soon offer a backdrop worthy of the athletes competing a few metres away.
There is no obligation to bet on the horses and many visitors come to the racecourse just to enjoy a drink and the wonderful view.
If your appetite is whetted, however, there is an area open to the public where you can get close to the horses as they make their way in front of the grandstand before and after the races.
Horse racing offers something for everyone, and you don’t have to be a pundit to enjoy the special atmosphere and spectacle of these beautiful animals doing what they do best.
