Attention! This is a city like no others!

Baccarat and Daum- Two names sure to get your attention. Two world famous crystal houses and producers of some of the finest and most beautiful luxury products, are from this region. Lorraine is the home to many producers of quality art products such as crystal, pottery and enamel.  This creative region is also home to the exclusive Vosges weavings, fine and contemporary fabrics, with a long reputation for exceptional quality. Just outside the Place Stanislas gates in Nancy, you can find boutiques of crystal wares, pottery and enamel.

But the truly exceptional thing about Nancy is the depth and breadth of the shopping experiences available. You will find, of course, all of the big brands, products and services of the big cities. But Nancy has something different, you will also find many smaller, more intimate boutiques, where more than likely you will meet the designers themselves! Nancy has many other local products (luxury or not!), including arts and crafts and the many sweet shops (Oh and don’t forget the Macarons!). Don’t hesitate to open the doors of the shops, you will receive a very friendly ‘Lorraine Welcome’.

You must discover also the gorgeous boutiques in the old city, creators of furniture or clothes, fine delicatessens, art galleries and antique shops, some of which are renowned specialists from the school of Nancy. You can also find examples of this creativity in the boutique shop at the Nancy Tourism Office and at all price ranges…..

If your taste buds are doing the shopping, during the week the central market in the new city is the place to be. On Sundays, the market air is always filled with the smell of delicious spices in the suburbs of Vandoeuvre, Pulnoy, St Nicolas, and in the Old City.

The grocery shops in the rue St Nicolas close late, and are for the most part, open on Sundays making it very practical as well as being a pleasant area. The quartier is also home to a new Sunday food market.

In Place Maginot, opposite the shop Printemps, an ‘Office of Commerce’ has opened which aims to assist shoppers, as well as providing a mine of other information and services for everyone, locals and tourists alike.

Happy shopping!
